Alpine Fly Fishers was organized in the spring of 1973 by some fly fishing enthusiasts who wanted more from the sport of fly fishing. The club now consists of approximately 45 individuals who meet regularly to promote and enjoy the great sport of fly fishing. The Club is a Charter club of the International Federation of Fly Fishers (note that the FFF is now the IFFF) and a member of the Washington State Council Federation of Fly Fishers. Come fish with us ... the waters beckon.
Alpine Fly Fishers participate in many areas of the sport of fly fishing and fish conservation:
- Fishing Reports
- Casting Clinics
- Midnight Fishing Trips
- Deschutes River Trip
- Fly Tying Clinics
- Environmental Projects
- Conservation Studies
- Public Education

Alpine Fly Fishers meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The meetings will be informal during the months of July and August with no planned speakers. Evening events consist of socializing, member reports of recent outings, dinner, followed by a fly fishing equipment raffle and an educational program. Past programs have included speakers such as Darrell Martin, John Shewey, Trey Combs, and Mike Maxwell as well as many local guides, outfitters, biologists, and fisheries experts. The membership is diverse in its fishing interests, friendly, and within it lies a great deal of knowledge of the sport. Most of us live in the Puyallup, Tacoma, Auburn, and Enumclaw areas. Please come to our meeting and join in the fun. We often bring our own young fly fishers to the meetings and they are welcome to attend.
March's program will feature Thomas Lampher who will speak on Tiger Musky Fishing.
